Filing for Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC)

From the OET Home Page, click on Unemployment Claim Filing and/or Unemployment Benefits - Internet Claim Filing. These links will take you to an Unemployment Insurance informational page. Once you've read this page, click on the 'I Agree' button at the bottom.

You are now on the Office of Employment and Training (OET) Benefit Management Page. You may enter your Social Security Number (9 digits) and PIN (4 digits). Click 'Log In' to continue.
Note: If you have forgotten your
PIN, you must report to your nearest Local Office with a photo ID to
have it reset.

Once you have Logged In, the Benefits Management Home page will display your name and services for you to choose from. You will click in the blue area, under 'File a Claim' to begin the EUC claim filing process.

The Claim Filing screen contains details of information you must have prior to filing your claim. Once you have read the information and are prepared, click the next button.

- The Base Period and Benefit Year Dates screen provides the dates relative to your claim. Once you have read this information, click the 'Next' button.

- Now, begin to answer the questions. Please answer all questions provided by the system.
|

- At the end of the question and answer process, you will certify to have answered all questions completely and honestly by entering your initials and full name on the Rights & Responsibilities screen.

- A confirmation page will be displayed to provide you with a date for calling to request your first emergency unemployment compensation benefits check.

Requesting your Bi-Weekly Check |

- You will request your bi-weekly check by calling the Voice Response Unit (VRU) at 866-291-2926 or logging on to the internet at www.kewes.ky.gov.

On the phone System:
- At the prompt, select option 1 to file your bi-weekly claim.
- Enter your Social Security Number (9-digits) and verify by pressing #1.
- Enter your PIN (4-digits)
Note: Your PIN will be the same one you used when to filing your EUC claim.
- Once you have logged in, answer all questions provided.

- The first date, to request your check, was given to you on the confirmation page when you filed your EUC claim. As long as you remain eligible for EUC, you can continue to request a check every other Sunday after your first request.

- Information concerning your Emergency Unemployment Compensation claim will not be available until after you have requested your first check.
|
|
- The VRU is available Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST and Sunday 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM EST.
